Career development and learning
Clear goals
Your manager will help you to identify the skills you will need to be effective in your role. As part of the Tokio Marine HCC, performance review process, they will work with you to set clear goals and provide feedback and support to help you achieve them. At the same time, you will be encouraged to take responsibility for driving your personal development.
Learning Resources
Through Workday Learning, we provide curated learning paths to help employees at all levels strengthen their communication, leadership, and other organisational effectiveness skills. You will be expected to complete some learning activities based on local regulatory requirements or the nature of your role, but you can also choose courses that are linked to your interests or support your personal development from a library of over 18,000 online courses.
Development opportunities
We provide a range of formal and informal development opportunities, including leadership development programmes (aimed at early career hires, new supervisors, middle and senior managers, or women in leadership roles), mentoring, and buddy programmes. Through our Study Support Policy, we encourage employees to keep up-to-date with their professional qualifications and technical licenses. As we are an international company with offices in the UK, Europe, and the US, many of our employees have the opportunity to develop their professional networks with clients and colleagues around the world.
“Sometimes the perceptions that people have of the insurance industry are the complete opposite.
It really is a family-orientated, caring supportive culture here at TMHCC.”
Nicki Tang, Head of Component Services
