Empowering women: We celebrate International Women's Day 2024

As we all come together to honour International Women's Day on Friday 8 March, Tokio Marine HCC celebrates the incredible achievements and contributions of the women in our company and beyond. This year's theme, #InspireInclusion, resonates deeply with our mission to cultivate a workplace where everyone is appreciated and has equal opportunities to thrive.

Global teams join in on the celebration

Here's a glimpse into the range of activities that our global teams have planned and delivered for our International Women's Day celebrations:

United Kingdom: Our London office is hosting a panel discussion led by renowned journalist Mariella Frostrup. The event will explore the inspiring career journeys of women in insurance, including our very own trailblazers at TMHCC.

Additionally, members of our HR recruitment team will be volunteering with Hestia, a charity close to our hearts that supports female survivors of domestic abuse and modern slavery and their children. They will provide invaluable employability tips and mentorship to boost their skills, self-esteem and confidence for a brighter future ahead.

Spain & Luxembourg: Our company’s Women's Community and Wellbeing Network organised a special breakfast networking events to empower our female colleagues in Barcelona and Luxembourg. This initiative is in place to raise awareness of the issues facing women in our workplace and provide development and resources to support their professional growth.

United States: In the U.S., our colleagues launched a giving campaign to support organisations promoting women's empowerment and economic independence. Through initiatives such as Dress for Success Worldwide, we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged women and girls worldwide. Donations will be matched through TMHCC Impact (U.S.) and Global Giving (International), extending the reach of our support.

Japan: On Thursday 7 March, our parent company, Tokio Marine Holdings Inc., hosted Tokio Talks, a live Q&A session featuring prominent female executives from across Tokio Marine, including Katherine Letsinger, Group Chief Financial Officer of Tokio Marine HCC International. The panel of senior women offered valuable insights and candid career advice.
