Pick a Project 2023

In October, the Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI) UK Charity Committee launched its annual Pick a Project initiative!

Our Pick a Project initiative provides the opportunity for one of our charity partners to secure additional funding to help get a specific project off the ground, in addition to TMHCCI’s annual partners donation. Unrestricted funds are difficult to secure for charities, especially for new and untested projects. The initiative allows our charity partners to run their project, evaluate it and potentially secure more long-term grants. It’s at the heart of our To Be a Good Company mission to make a positive impact in our wider communities.

This year, almost 400 UK based employees voted for the project closest to their hearts and the winner is... Rainbows!

Rainbows, provides care and support for babies, children and young people with serious and terminal conditions, and their whole family, across the East Midlands. The funding will enable the charity to reach more children, so every little one gets the care and support they deserve.

How the donation will make a difference:

Rainbows’ Nurses in Hospitals project will fund two hundred hours of nursing care and support across hospitals in the East Midlands. Rainbows’ nurses will work alongside hospital staff to care for children and support their families during their most challenging times. The nurses will also provide education and training to hospital staff, palliative care, symptom management and end of life care.

Lauren Baker, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows said: “Thank you to Tokio Marine HCC International for giving us the opportunity for funding through its Pick a Project initiative. We are delighted that our Nurses in Hospitals project was shortlisted and then received the most staff votes. Our specialist nurses provide expert help, guidance and signposting at a time when families need it most. A big thank you to the kind employees at TMHCCI for supporting our vision of providing ‘The Rainbows Experience Wherever You Are’.”
