What does CSR mean to Tokio Marine HCC?

Friday, September 15, 2017

Our September Spinathon is fast approaching and we’re training hard to make sure our Bridgend, Leicester, Barcelona and London offices reach our goal of cycling 10,000km combined.

It is worth reminding ourselves why we’re committing to this challenge. At Tokio Marine HCC, part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment is to connect with our local and wider communities - encouraging opportunities to partner with local charities and providing our team with the chance to deliver long-term benefits to these organisations.

Alongside our mission to create an inclusive workplace environment where equality and diversity thrive, we believe in supporting community bodies that celebrate these values and many more. This year, we are proudly backing four charities engaged in benefitting those in need and encouraging our staff, brokers, friends and family to join in.

Body & Soul

Body & Soul are dedicated to providing vital psychological care and support to individuals and families who have been impacted by trauma. Without the right intervention, many people are confronted with a life of isolation, low self-esteem, poor mental health and social exclusion.

LOROS helps deliver free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers. They deliver care that is special and unique to each individual and is so important for those who are either directly or indirectly living with cancer or other terminal illnesses.

St Mungo's

St Mungo's provide beds and support to more than 2,600 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

Velindre Cancer Care

Velindre Cancer Centre provide specialist cancer services to over 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond. They also provide vital training for cancer healthcare professionals to ensure that their patients get the best care possible in their time of need.

On Tuesday, September 26, in conjunction with the Lord Mayor’s City Giving Day, we’ll get on our bikes to cycle the distance from London to Tokyo and we’d welcome your support. Last year, Tokio Marine HCC raised approximately £50,000 from our flagship charity event. This year, we would love to exceed that total.

If you are inspired and want to help us reach our distance goal and most importantly raise money for these partner charities, please contact Hannah Powell, Marketing and Communications Officer,

Donations will be evenly split across our four partner charities.
