Alva brings more than 15 years of cyber and professional liability experience, with a career spanning underwriting leadership, portfolio strategy, product development and distribution. He joins CPLG from Travelers, where he served as Vice President, Specialty Cyber, following senior leadership roles at Corvus Insurance and NAS Insurance Services. Across these organizations, Alva has built and led underwriting teams, managed complex cyber portfolios and helped drive profitable growth in a rapidly evolving market.
In his new role, Alva will focus on strengthening CPLG’s cyber underwriting capabilities, developing talent, advancing portfolio and product strategy, and deepening alignment across underwriting, claims, actuarial, data science, risk services and distribution.
His appointment also marks a return to familiar roots. Alva spent nearly nine years with NAS Insurance Services, now part of Tokio Marine HCC, where he helped grow the organization’s cyber and professional liability business and expand its underwriting presence nationally.

Alva brings deep experience working with retail and wholesale brokers and building strong, long-term relationships. His approach combines sound underwriting judgment with data, claims insight and a clear focus on making smart decisions for brokers, clients and the portfolio.
The appointment reflects CPLG’s continued investment in strong cyber leadership and expertise as the cyber risk landscape continues to evolve.
