1. How do I apply?

  • When applications open, you can apply online via our Early Careers page. You will need to complete an application form and indicate your preferred apprenticeship discipline.

2. What qualifications do I need to apply?

    • Currently studying towards A-Levels (or equivalent)
    • Hold GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above

3. What skills and qualities are we looking for?

  • This programme is ideal for school or college leavers seeking a professional alternative to university. We look for individuals who are:

    • Enthusiastic and motivated
    • Strong communicators
    • Team players
    • Adaptable and open-minded

    No prior experience is required. We focus on potential and mindset as much as academic results.

4. What is the selection process?

    • Online application
    • Online cognitive ability assessment
    • Virtual interview
    • Assessment day (if shortlisted)
    • All candidates are contacted directly with the outcome

5. Do I need prior work experience?

  • No. Previous experience is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in your motivation, interests, and willingness to learn. Any part-time or voluntary experience can be beneficial, but it is not required.

6. What support will I receive during the programme?

  • You will recieve:

    • A dedicated support contact
    • A departmental buddy
    • Structured onboarding
    • Regular apprentice cohort sessions
    • Ongoing learning and development support

7. How long does the apprenticeship last?

  • The programme typically runs for two years. Apprentices who successfully complete the programme have strong prospects. While a permanent role cannot be guaranteed, we aim to offer long-term opportunities, subject to performance and business requirements.

8. What qualification will I gain? (educational/professional)

  • Our apprenticeships lead to professionally recognised qualifications delivered through a structured formal educational programme aligned to the business area you join. Full details of the specific qualification  including its level and awarding body  will be confirmed within the role description at the point of application.

9. What are the working hours?

  • Apprentices work standard full-time hours aligned with their department.  All apprentices receive a minimum of 6 hours of off-the-job training per week as part of their apprenticeship programme. This time is dedicated to learning and completing the academic elements of the qualification.

10. When will I hear back after applying?

  • Candidates are contacted directly at each stage of the process. Timelines may vary depending on application volumes; however, we aim to communicate outcomes as promptly as possible.
