With summer almost behind us, getting back into routine can feel tough; however, 19 members of our London Run Club decided to blow off the cobwebs in a gruelling, but energising way, by running the Big Half Marathon to raise money for one of our charity partners, Hestia.
The Big Half Marathon was launched in 2018 with the ambition of creating a mass participation event that was truly reflective of London and the communities that make the city so unique. Held over the course of one day, this festival of running aims to inspire runners of all backgrounds to enjoy the benefits of running and to celebrate and represent London’s diverse population.
Our brave runners started the 13.1 mile course near Tower Bridge, taking in some of London’s most celebrated landmarks before they finished at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
Tokio Marine HCC International has been a long-standing supporter of Hestia, who undertake vital work in London, providing safety and support to adults and children in times of crisis. They have 950 volunteers helping over 19,000 of society’s most vulnerable people last year, including:
Hestia is a great charity and we are so proud of the running club for taking on this challenge to raise vital funds that will allow them to support even more vulnerable people in our local communities.
Well done to everyone involved!
