  2. Bid Bonds

If you submit a tender for a public work contract, you may be required to post a bid bond. The bid bond guarantees that if you win the bid, you will proceed to enter into contract and to perform the work as set out your bid. It may also guarantee your obligation to provide a contract performance bond if your bid is successful.

  3. Advance Payment Bonds

  4. CEND

Emerging markets often provide the strongest growth opportunities for banks, traders and manufacturers. CEND insurance policies offered by Tokio Marine HCC can provide solutions to these problems and help secure interests in dynamic markets worldwide.

  5. Developers Road and Infrastructure Bonds

If you are a house builder or a property developer intending to commence a new development, the relevant authorities (often the municipality or local authority) may require you to provide bonds to secure the cost of completing the necessary infrastructure, particularly in relation to the roads and sewers.

  6. Performance Bonds

A performance bond guarantees to your client that you will carry out and complete a project (or sub-contract) according to the terms and conditions of the contract. It provides security to the owner that in the event of your default, the owner’s losses and damages will be paid under the bond, subject to a stated maximum amount. Generally default is caused by insolvency.

  7. Pension Bonds

    NEED TO EDIT

  8. Payment & Deferred Payment Bonds

If you enter into a contract where you are obliged to make payments at a defined future date, you may be required to post a bond. An example could relate to the sale of land whereby the landowner is willing to sell and transfer ownership of land to a house builder or property developer, but where not all of the purchase price will be paid upon the legal completion of the sale. A deferred consideration bond can guarantee payment of future instalments if the house builder or developer defaults.

  225. Warranty & Maintenance Bonds

Maintenance bonds are a form of performance bond relating to the maintenance (or warranty) period and are sometimes required by the owner of a construction project. They provide security to the owner for any defective workmanship or faulty materials which may be discovered following handover of the project and during the ensuing maintenance period, which is usually for 12 or 24 months. A maintenance bond is often issued in a lesser amount than the contract performance bond which it replaces.

  519. Court Bonds

If you are involved in a legal action and the court issues a judgement against you, you may have to pay a substantial sum even though you have rights of appeal. If that happens and you intend to appeal, instead of immediately paying the amount specified in the judge’s award, you may be able to post a bond until the appeal process concludes. Court bonds may be posted in relation to the decisions of tax tribunals, competition courts or civil courts. The amount of the bond is fixed by the court.

  520. Court of Protection / Deputy Bonds

A Court of Protection / deputy bond is required by the Court of Protection before it will appoint an individual as a "deputy" to look after the estate and financial affairs of a person who lacks mental capacity. The bond provides financial security, up to the stated maximum, in respect of any potential wrongdoing on the part of the appointed deputy, which causes any loss to finances of the person for whom they act as deputy.

  679. Environment Bonds

Environmental bonds are often required to fulfill legal obligations and maintain relevant licenses. This often applies to waste treatment facilities, landfill sites and transshipments of waste. Bonds are also required to cover potential decommissioning costs in the energy industries, including oil & gas and renewables. Additionally, restoration bonds may be needed to secure the cost of returning land to its original state after completion of mining or quarrying activities

  680. Insurance Deductable Guarantee Bonds

Compulsory liability insurance products, such as employers’ liability, create an obligation on insurers to settle claims without deduction of any excess in the event of claim. Thus, if you have volunteered to carry a sizeable monetary excess in exchange for a reduction in your premium, your insurer may require you to provide an insurance deductable bond (or letter of credit) as security against the risk of your non-payment of that excess, in case of your insolvency.

  681. Admirality Bonds

If you are involved in shipping, you may be required to post an admiralty bond following any collision or incident involving salvage services. To procure the release of vessels or other property from arrest and/or to secure a third party’s maritime or other legal claim against the vessel (or other related property), an admiralty bond is required. Admiralty bonds are any bonds that are filed in legal proceedings concerning maritime law.

  682. Customs Bonds

The posting of a customs bond with the relevant authorities allows you to efficiently manage your business in circumstances where you are liable (or may potentially become liable) to pay import or export duties, excise duties or purchase taxes on your goods or goods that are under your control.

  732. Fiduciary

Trustees and fiduciaries are far more accountable for their actions when managing employee benefit plans than ever before. In today’s environment, they are governed by statutes that regulate the administration of benefit plans, as well as the laws generally applicable to trustees. Consequently, non-compliance can lead to personal liability for breach of responsibilities – risking a loss to their personal assets as well as those of the corporations they represent.
