TMHCC Life Adds Two Key Employees To Its Management Team

HCC Life Insurance Company (HCC Life), a leading provider of medical stop-loss insurance, today announced that Beata Madey and Michael Wahlstrom have joined HCC Life’s management team.

Ms. Madey has joined HCC Life as Senior Vice President and will be involved in strategic planning as a member of the executive management group and have direct responsibility for regional underwriting, marketing and administrative functions. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Underwriting with HM Insurance Group, a position she held since 2000. Ms. Madey brings extensive management experience to HCC Life and has successfully managed a diverse staff while being responsible for profitability and growth. She has also served on several boards within the healthcare industry and is a former Chair of the Healthcare Committee with Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. Ms. Madey holds a B.S. in Finance from Long Island University and an M.S. in Finance and Financial Management Services from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Wahlstrom has joined HCC Life as Senior Vice President and will be responsible for the Southeast Region. Previously, he was Director of Group Underwriting at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. Mr. Wahlstrom is a proven leader with a diverse business and underwriting background. His prior management of fully insured, ASO, stop-loss and alternate funding portfolios have prepared him to lead one of HCC Life’s larger regions. Mr. Wahlstrom holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics and an MBA from Chadron State College where he was Captain of the football team.
