This year, we proudly took part in the Great British Beach Clean, an initiative led by the Marine Conservation Society to protect our coastlines and marine life. While this event
began as a UK-wide effort, with colleagues joining from Portsmouth, Bridgend, and Aberdeen, we were inspired to take it global, bringing together teams in Barcelona and even
Los Angeles to make a difference.
From the breezy shores of Portsmouth to the sunny sands of LA, volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work, collecting litter, logging their findings, and helping to keep our
oceans cleaner and safer. Our Barcelona team made an especially impressive contribution, removing a total of 71.9 kilograms of litter!
Beaches aren’t just places of leisure; they are vital ecosystems that support countless species. Unfortunately, marine litter poses one of the biggest threats to ocean health, with
around 100,000 marine mammals and 1 million seabirds dying each year as a result of plastic pollution.
By taking part in initiatives like the Great British Beach Clean, we help prevent pollution from reaching the ocean, protect marine life, and raise awareness about the importance
of reducing waste. It’s a reminder that small actions, multiplied across communities and continents, can have a massive impact.
At TMHCC, sustainability isn’t a one-week event; it’s part of our ongoing commitment to responsible business. We’re proud of our colleagues around the world who joined in
this effort, demonstrating that protecting the planet knows no borders. Together, we’re helping to ensure that future generations can enjoy clean, thriving coastlines.
