Yacht Crew Insurance provides personal accident and illness protection for captains, officers, crew, temporary workers and guests. It helps yacht owners, managers and operators manage the financial and practical impact of an illness, injury, accident or other covered event.

Cover may apply while working or staying on board the vessel, travelling to and from the vessel, and during covered incidents worldwide, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

Specific coverage includes:

  • Personal accident and illness – financial protection in the event of accidental death, permanent total disablement, loss of limb or sight, or temporary total disablement. Cover is available up to five times annual salary for captains, officers and crew, with weekly salary continuation benefits for temporary disablement.
  • Medical expenses – cover for necessary medical costs following a covered injury or illness, including emergency medical treatment, hospitalisation, specialist care, dental treatment following injury, emergency evacuation and repatriation.
  • Crew replacement expenses – support for the recruitment and transportation of replacement crew following illness, injury, death or hijack incidents.
  • Personal effects – protection for personal belongings and personal money during the insured period, including theft and accidental damage.
  • Worldwide cover and emergency assistance – protection during covered incidents worldwide, with access to 24/7 global emergency medical and travel assistance services.
